King's International University is established by the Government of Kingdom of Tonga as a private university for educational empowerment and skills development in the island nation.
Global Educational Initiatives Corporation Limited is the sponsoring body of the King's International University. The Charter of the University was approved by the Ministry of Justice. The Ministry of Education and Training endorsed and approved the creation and establishment of the university on 24th August 2014.
King's is accredited by Tongan National Qualifications and Accreditation Board (TNQAB). TNQAB is the National Regulator of Vocational and Higher Education in the Kingdom of Tonga.
King's is also ISO 9001: 2015 CERTIFIED company.
Her Royal Highness Princess Royal Salote Mafile’o Pilolevu Tuita of Tonga is the Patron of the university. King's being the first native university to be established and accredited, is a proud custodian and promoter of culture and rich heritage of Tonga.
